KARACHI, Jan 26: Shahid Fayyaz produced a superb all-round performance to help Faisal Textile defeat Bolan Bank by 60 runs in the 1st Abdul Quddoos Sheikh Memorial Multinational Cricket Tournament at UBL Sports Complex Ground ‘B’ here on Sunday.

Man-of-the-Match Shahid top-scored with 45 as Faisal Textile made 168 for five in their allotted 25 overs. Bolan Bank in reply were dismissed for 108 in 18.4 overs with Shahid taking three for 38.

Tariq Haroon also excelled for the winners. He contributed 44 while opening the innings and later took two wickets for one run.

Tahir Raza was Faysal Bank’s hero in their comprehensive 83-run triumph over Shell Pakistan in an earlier match at the same venue.

Tahir hit day’s highest score of 74 as Faysal Bank collected 201 for nine in 25 overs.

S. Abuzar claimed two wickets without conceding a run while Naveed Alam and Majid Hussain chipped in with two for 30 and two for 31 respectively to rout Shell Pakistan for only 118 in 16.4 overs.

In another match, played at UBL’s Ground ‘A’, ABN Amro Bank inflicted a crushing seven-wicket on Islamic Bank. The highlights here being Moiz Khan’s fine all-round double of two for 19 and an unbeaten 60 while Zulfiqar Lehri shone with the ball to capture four for 50 as Islamic Bank were bundled out for 151.
