KARACHI, April 29: Fahim Ramzan and Nazif Ahmed completed the quartet of men’s singles qualifiers in the Sindh Open ranking tennis championship at the Karachi Gymkhana on Monday.

Fahim overcome stiff resistance from Khadim Hussain while imposing to 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 victory in thrilling three set qualifier, Nazif was home in contrasting style beating Saad Ahmed 6-0, 6-0.Abdullah Khan and Salman Butt have already qualified for the main draw the other day.

Qualifying round one: Nazif Ahmed bt Tariq Jan (walkover). Qualifying round two: Nazif Ahmed bt Saad Ahmed 6-0, 6-0; Fahim Ramzan bt Khadim Hussain 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.

First round: Khalid Ali Nazar bt Nomi Qamar 3-6, 7-5, 11-9. Boys and girls under-15 singles:

Second round: Nazif Ahmed bt Hania Naveed 6-1, 6-2. Boys and girls under-13 singles:

Qualifying round: Jay Kumar bt Atif 6-1, 6-2; Ajay Kumar bt M. Abdullah Imran (walkover).

First round: Mohammad Ahmed Ehtisham bt Mohammad Dada 1-6, 7-5, 10-8; Ebad Ahmed bt Asheesh 6-4, 7-5; Amin Shafi bt Nauman Aftab 6-2, 2-6, 10-6.

Boys and girls under-11 singles:

First round: M. Yahya bt Ibrahim Khan 9-7; Daniyal Mujtaba bt Abdullah Javed (walkover); Asheesh bt Saqib 8-5. Tuesday’s fixtures: Matches start at 12.00noon.
