Rocket attack on Mazari village

Published January 26, 2003

SUKKUR, Jan 25: A village inhabited by Mazari tribesmen came under heavy rocket fire on Saturday morning, but no loss of life or damage to property was reported.

The attack was the third during the ongoing conflict between the Mazaris and the Bugtis.

The village, located about 10kms from Kashmor, was hit by 15 rockets.

A resident of the village alleged that the Bugtis came from Balochistan and went back after the rocket attacks.

The attack severely hampered the restoration work on electric supply lines in the area.

Sui and Dera Bugti and some parts of the Punjab have been without power for some time.
