Okara rout D.G. Khan

LAHORE, Jan 25: A hat trick by Mohammad Ramzan gave defending champions Okara a fine start when they thrashed D.G. Khan 10-0 in the opener of the Punjab Under-16 inter-district hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.

Ramzan struck in the 44th, 46th and 57th minutes, while the other scorers were Tahir Mehmood (8th, 15th minute) and Mohammad Zubair (31st, 60th minutes).

Shehzad Aslam (12th minute), Tafseer-ul-Hafeez (41st minute) and Ghulam Abbas (43rd minute) added a goal each.

A winner from Asim Saeed helped Rahimyar Khan edge out Gujrat 2-1. The winning side scored through Akifullah Khan in the 3rd minute.

Gujrat restored parity when Saeed Asif struck in the 36th minute before Asim scored the winner in the 53rd minute.

A goal by Omar Khan in the 36th minute helped Narowal squeeze past Bahawalpur 1-0.

Mianwali defeated Bhakhar 2-0. Abid Khan (26th minute) and Kamran Khan (48th minute) were the scorers.

Five goals by Mohammad Usman enabled Toba Tek Singh crush Rawalpindi 10-1.

Usman struck in the 8th, 39th, 42nd, 50th and 57th  minutes. Inatyullah netted three  goals (1st, 16th and 23rd minutes). Mohsin Ali (12th minute) and Nadeem Shahid (37th minute) scored one goal apiece.

Hyder Abbas scored the consolation goal in the 41st minute for the losers.

Sialkot outplayed Bahawalnagar 4-1. Sialkot got an early lead through Waheed Ahmad in the second minute. Bahawalpur levelled with Abid Ali scoring in the 19th minute.

Sadiqeen (21st minute), Saqib (49th minute) and Qaiser Abbas (57th minute) completed the tally.
