I VISITED Lahore after a lapse of 10 years. I was simply amazed to see that it was totally transformed. The number of underpasses built on canal road and elsewhere helped in the smooth flow of traffic.
The latest underpass at Kalma Chowk is simply marvellous. The newly-built flyovers are superb. The roads have been widened. All underpasses are extremely clean; so are the roads.
There is better observance of traffic rules. But the real feather in the cap is its Metro Buses. Its network is all over the city and beyond.
Congratulations to Shahbaz Sharif who has worked relentlessly to develop Lahore. It has all the ingredients of a modern mega city.

Nice and timely piece of pre-election plugging of PML-N "achievements". I hope the pharmaceutical industry woes are now all under control.

What a one sided letter. The metrobus is only on Ferozepur road, of the 5-6 major roads in Lahore (Multan, Mall, GT, Canal being the others in the older areas of the city). The rest are the same traffic observance, congestion, and cleanliness wise. Also, one turn onto the smaller roads will send the car flying because of one pothole or another.
It's not much different from other cities. Very superficial development, though something is better than nothing I guess. Though it is better than Karachi in any case. Still though, a bit too over the top.

Great ! Credit goes to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif and it has nothing to do with his Party, majority of which is full of scoundrels and dons.

I recently visited Lahore after a lapse of 23 years. Masha Allah, is very impressive. I just wish the rest of Pakistan would have similar investment!

So you're saying that after 10 years, all the progress you saw was this government? What about the work the previous government did? And secondly what's the point of having an extensive road infrastructure when people have no jobs?

I was in Lahore last year and noticed those underpasses and overpasses. It helps some, but the overall traffic conditions are miserable and no where near the civilized world.
