Unbeaten century by Misbah

KARACHI, Jan 24: Pakistan discard Misbah-ul-Haq hammered his fourth century in five matches as Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) inched closer to a quarterfinal berth in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy on Friday.

Misbah was unconquered on 102 in KRL’s second innings score of 342 for seven in this pre-quarterfinal clash against Allied Bank Limited (ABL).

Giving Misbah company was Jaffar Nazir (21) in the unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 51.

Slow left-armer Mohammad Zahid claimed five for 83 on a docile UBL Sports Complex strip.

Misbah, whose fine 207-ball knock was laced with 11 fours and a brace of sixes, was also involved in a seventh-wicket partnership of 102 with Mohammad Asif (42) Nightwatchman Zulfiqar Jan had earlier contributed 53.

KRL now enjoy an overall lead of 384 with just one day remaining.
