KARACHI, March 10: Paceman Sajid Pachio claimed a sensational hat-trick in the penultimate over as Sindh High Court Green shocked fancied National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) by one run in the first New AJ Sports Multinational Premier League T20 cricket tournament fixture at the SBP Ground here on Saturday.

NBP, chasing 116, were dismissed for 114 in 19.4 overs after Sajid had sealed their fate in the second last over of the game with three wickets on the fourth, fifth and sixth deliveries to finish with three for 18. Leg-spinner Vinod Raju also played a key role in SHC Green’s success with figures of three for 11 while off-spinner Nusrat Ali took 2-24.

Former first-class wicket-keeper and Pakistan Under-19 representative Naeem Ahmed Khan was the top scorer for the bankers with a 28-ball 37 that included a brace of sixes and as many fours.

Earlier after SHC Green skipper Mohammad Ibrahim chose to bat first having won the toss, opener Farhan Khan was the cornerstone of their innings by striking two fours and a six in a 45-ball 42. Adil Ahmed made an 18-ball 22.

In Saturday’s other fixture, KASB Bank defeated Dubai Islamic Bank ‘B’ by 20 runs. Zulfiqar Lehri excelled for the winning side,

who were sent into bat, as he struck 76 off 56 balls with the aid of five sixes and two fours, while dominating the third-wicket partnership of 82 with Shahid Hussain (38 off 37 balls, two fours and one six).
