KARACHI, March 10:  President Asif Ali Zardari has approved, on the advice of prime minister, conferment of Sitara-i-Imtiaz on Sarmad Ali, the managing director of the Jang Media Group and president of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS).

Mr Ali has over 25 years of experience in marketing, advertising and media management. He has served thrice as president of the Marketing Association of Pakistan. He is also president of International Advertising Association’s Pakistan chapter and serves on the IAA’s global Board of Directors.

Mr Ali is a board member of the Management Association of Pakistan and is a member of FPCCI’s standing committee on advertising. He has been given the award in recognition of his services for development and promotion of newspapers industry, said president’s spokesman Senator Farhatullah Babar.—APP
