Benazir calls for Geelani’s release

ISLAMABAD, Jan 23: Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto has expressed concern over the deteriorating health of imprisoned Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Geelani.

Doctors recently discovered a cyst that could turn cancerous on a kidney of the detained leader.

According to a press release issued here by the PPP media cell, Ms Bhutto called for the release of Ali Geelani on “humanitarian grounds given his old age and ailment.” Mr Geelani is 78 years old.
