KARACHI, Jan 23: A meeting of the DHA executive board here on Thursday reviewed the development projects in the locality and underlined the need for beautification of roads.

Commander 5-Corps Lt-Gen. Tariq Waseem Ghazi, who presided over the meeting, said that provision of a clean and serene environment to residents be the cardinal principle of all the undertakings and works.

The corps commander directed that all-out efforts be made to provide best possible amenities and facilities to the residents of DHA.

He told the management of the DHA to frequently interact with the Defence Residents Associations and leave no stone unturned to solve their problems on top priority.

He gave an approval of a number of projects of multifarious nature and stressed that work on development of Karachi Beach View Front and the DHA Plan be undertaken with a reinvigorated spirit to take the DHA into the 21st century as a progressive organization.

Gen Ghazi stressed that water shortage problem in the DHA be given priority and all attention be focused to address the problem systematically and in accordance with the chalked out strategy.

He also emphasised the need for keeping the localities of the DHA clean and to ensure garbage disposal and cleanliness of the area.

He underlined the need for strict enforcement of rules and law and of introduction of the system of checks and incentives to minimise parking, traffic and cleanliness violations in the DHA.
