Former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya and legendary off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan have expressed a willingness to play in Pakistan's National One-day Cup, BBC Urdu reported.

According to the report, the head coach of SNGPL and former Pakistan batsman, Basit Ali, spoke to the two Sri Lankan stalwarts during a T20 event and convinced them to represent his side in the One-Day Cup.

If the move goes ahead as planned, the SNGPL team, which includes a host of Pakistan Test cricketers, would make a formidable one. Their addition would be timely as well as Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez and Umar Akmal will be in South Africa for the duration of Pakistan's domestic event.

Jayasuriya, who led an International XI side to Pakistan in October last year, and Muralitharan will be provided security by SNGPL, Ali added.
