KOHAT, Feb 25: Awami National Party MNA Pir Dilwar Shah on Sunday joined the Pakistan People’s Party along with his brother to contest next general elections on PPP ticket.

The MNA’s brother Pir Adil Shah, who was also in the ANP in 2008 elections, had joined the PML-N last year. But he joined the PPP on the request of the divisional leadership of the PPP and the chief of the women wing of the party Faryal Talpur. The PPP has awarded Pir Dilwar Shah the party ticket and it is expected that his brother will also get ticket for the provincial assembly seat.

The MNA took the decision at the President House in Islamabad where he had gone along with PPP provincial president Anwar Saifullah Khan, divisional president Malik Iqbal, Fareed advocate and Nadir Khattak.

The joining of the ANP MNA the ranks of the PPP has strengthened the position of the PPP lawmaker and the provincial Food Minister Syed Qalbe Hassan who had won elections twice from KP-38.

Meanwhile, reports said ANP district president and aspirant for the national assembly seat Syed Saeed Shah has been summoned to Wali Bagh to discuss the award of ticket to him in Kohat. But so far no decision has been made in this regard.

WOMAN KILLED: A women was killed by her relatives in an honour related incident in Ustarzai village on Monday.

A man told the Ustarzai police that three persons entered his house and opened indiscriminate fire, seriously injuring a woman, who died while being taken to hospital. The accused fled the scene.

The police registered case on the complaint of the maternal uncle of the deceased and launched investigations.

ACCIDENT: A ten-year-old girl was hit and killed by a car near Muslimabad on Monday. The girl was identified as Ramsha. The police registered case and impounded the car and arrested the driver.
