HYDERABAD, Jan 22: Three district police officials of Hyderabad on Tuesday stated before the Sindh High Court that they had not harassed the family of Aurangzeb Khan, the vice president, Awami National Party (ANP), and a big transporter.

The police officials — DPO Hyderabad, additional DPO Hyderabad, SHO police station Gulshan-e-Hali — filed their statements, supported by affidavits.

They claimed that Anwar Zaib, the son of Aurangzeb Khan and Mohammad Yasin, the servant of Aurangzeb Khan, were not required in any case.

Police had not harassed them, they added.

The police officials claimed that a dispute arose between Khalid Butt and Aurangzeb Khan regarding Karachi-bound coaches.

Mr Khan was booked in a double murder case on the complaint of Khalid Butt after two of his servants, Ismail Gaddi and Haneef Pathan, were gunned down on Dec 30 at Kallu Chowk.

The SHO, Gulshan-e-Hali police station, denied having visited the residence of Aurangzeb Khan.

The police claimed that the petitioners had filed the petition on the behest of Aurangzeb Khan.

In their petitions, the petitioners apprehended their implication in the said case and that earlier Yasin had filed a constitutional petition, which had been disposed of.
