KARACHI, Feb 23: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Saturday demanded that the resignations tendered by its ministers and advisers be accepted forthwith and an MQM candidate be appointed leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly.

In a statement issued here, the MQM coordination committee said all federal and provincial ministers of the party had resigned and filed applications seeking allotment of opposition benches.

It demanded that the resignations be accepted immediately and the MQM parliamentarians be allotted opposition benches in the senate and national and provincial assemblies.

The MQM said in the past it had raised voice against every undemocratic and anti-people step of the government and it would continue to do so.
