LAHORE, Jan 21: Expressing concern over FBI raids and arrest of Pakistanis, Central Shoora of the Jamaat-i-Islami has asked the government to make arrangement for early departure of US forces from Pakistan.
In a resolution adopted at the second session of the Shoora meeting, it demanded that all peaceful Pakistanis and people belonging to other countries arrested by the FBI should be released immediately.
It said continued raids of the FBI on religious centres and seminaries showed that Pakistan had lost its sovereignty and had become a colony of the United States.
It upheld the NWFP government’s warning to the FBI to close down its operation in the province and urged the MMA parliamentary party to raise the issue on the floor of the house.
The Shoora also demanded that the UNO, the Non-Aligned Movement and the OIC should discharge their responsibility regarding the right to franchise for Kashmiris.
Showing solidarity with the ongoing freedom struggle in Kashmir, it warned the government not to damage Kashmiris’ struggle by holding talks on making the LoC as an international border
