NOWSHERA, Feb 20: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah has said that internally displaced persons (IDPs) of tribal areas would soon return to their homes as writ of the state has been restored in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

“The writ of the state is intact in tribal areas and there is no room for no-go area,” he said this while addressing the teachers and students of Cadet College, Razmak, at its temporary campus in Nowshera on Wednesday.

He said that effective military operation against militants had been paving the way for IDPs’ return to their areas. “The military operation is continuing in Khyber Agency and the IDPs would be sent back immediately after the situation is normal,” he said.

On this occasion, the governor appreciated the courage of cadets for continuing their studies in difficult situation. He assured them that the college would be shifted to the new premises having all required facilities.

“It is now a matter of weeks to overcome deficiencies at the new campus in Nowshera, after which the institution will work as per desired standards,” he said.

Mr Shaukatullah said that he would ensure that quality academic facilities were provided in the cadet college. The governor, who was accompanied by senior authorities from Fata Secretariat, also directed for overcoming the transport deficiency of the college besides meeting its financial requirements.

Referring to his recent announcement for provision of five additional seats each for students from Bajaur and Mohmand agencies, he said that there was also the need to create additional capacity in the institution. He also inspected the new campus being built in cantonment area of Nowshera.

Earlier, Tahir Qayyum, the college principal, apprised the governor of immediate requirements of the college to make it fully functional.
