SANGHAR, Feb 19: Three young girls died on Tuesday by drowning in a watercourse in Sukhio Punjabi village, around 20 kilometres from Sanghar.

Two sisters, six-year-old Nazia and five-year-old Tooba, and, another girl Amna overbalanced and fell into the watercourse when they were playing near Dilshakh bus stop. Water in the channel was flowing at full spate and all the girls drowned. The girls’ parents pulled out the bodies and brought them home.

In another incident, a man was axed to death on Tuesday in Bahadur Hajano village, Tando Adam taluka over a petty issue.

Anwar Hajano was killed over picking leaves of a tree to feed his goats. A murder case was registered at the Piyaro Lund police station against three suspects.
