AT the southern end of Kachnar Park which is adjacent to Sector I-8 on Islamabad Highway there exists a small mosque.

Until a couple of years ago, it was a very small structure, but since then it has become not only bigger in size but also appears quite organised.

A few yards to the north of the mosque, a barbed wire enclosure has recently been created.

There is no signboard outside it to indicate the purpose for which it is being put up.

Through these columns, I would request the CDA administration to check whether everything is legal and proper about the enclosure.

Illegal structures on Capital Development Authority land if not removed in time have a tendency to become permanent.

In Islamabad, we have already lost vast tracts of green areas and open spaces due to negligence and apathy of the authorities concerned.
