LAHORE: An eye specialist and his son were gunned down by two assailants in Gulberg here on Monday.

According to police, Dr Ali Haider and his son Ali Murtaza were on their way when two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at their car at Zahoor Elahi Road near FC College.

As a result, Dr Ali Haider died on the spot while his injured son was shifted to Services Hospital where he died.

Police have shifted the bodies to city morgue for autopsy and started investigation after registering a case.

Dr Haider was also a consultant at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust (SKMT).

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has strongly condemned the killings.

"We cannot tolerate these brutal acts of terror," he stated.
