NEW DELHI, Jan 20: India on Monday carried out its third missile test in 11 days when it fired surface-to-air Akash from a mobile launcher in Orissa.

“All the parameters of the test were achieved,” an official said in New Delhi.

The official described the launch from the Chandipur-at-Sea site as “one of the final tests” before the missile is cleared for mass production and deployed with the air force.

“We are quite satisfied with the various tasks assigned to the system,” he said of Akash.—AFP
