KARACHI, Feb 15: A sparkling knock of 86 from Moin Shaikh inspired Orangi Star CC to a narrow 13-run victory over National Sports in the KCCA Zone-VI ‘B’ Division League cricket tournament fixture at the Eastern Star Cricket Ground here the other day.

Moin’s innings, which was studded with five boundaries and three sixes, and that of Ashraf Hussain (55 with six fours and one six) powered Orangi Star CC to a massive 285-8 in their stipulated overs.

National Sports, in reply, made a spirited attempt to overhaul the total before reaching 272-8. Zeeshan Khan (56, four boundaries) and Tariq Ahmed (50, six fours) were the main scorers. Mohammad Jamal claimed four wickets for 98 runs.

In another match played at the Sakhi Hasan Gymkhana Ground, Unity Gymkhana pulled off a thrilling six-run win against Taj Sports.

Talha Ahmed (54) and Talha Javed (47) were the main contributors in Unity Gymkhana’s score of 217 for seven. Paceman Ehsanullah grabbed five wickets for 109 runs.

Despite Kamran Shaikh scoring 64 (nine boundaries), Taj Sports were restricted to 211-9 in their reply.
