KOHAT, Jan 20: The NWFP Chief Minister Akram Durrani has said that some sinister elements who do not want to see an Islamic system of governance in the province are trying to create differences among the people of various districts to malign Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal to divide the nation on ethnic grounds to protect their ill-gotten wealth.

He was talking to a 25-member delegation led by an MNA from Kohat Mufti Ibrar Sultan which called on him at the Frontier House on Monday.

The chief minister clarified that for him Kohat was as important as his native Bannu district and he had no intentions to shift hospital or any other office. “It was just a ploy of the anti-MMA elements who want to create misunderstandings between us.”

He said that the MNA from Kohat also belonged to MMA then how can he harm the interests of the district of his own man. The rumours about the shifting of Al Shifa Hospital to Bannu from Kohat are wrong.

In fact, I want that every district gets better medical and educational facilities,” MNA Ibrar quoted the CM as saying in a press release issued here on Monday.

Ibrar assured the people of Kohat that the provincial government would not become a hurdle in the development of the area and all the ongoing schemes would be completed as planned and on time.

“A lobby wants to create misunderstandings between the NWFP governor Lt-Gen Seed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and the chief minister to malign the government. He clarified that their were some differences between the government and the governor which were of purely political nature and not personal,” he further clarified.
