I HAPPEN to reside in a home outside of which the late Shahzeb was brutally gunned down on Christmas eve at 1:30am.

While all my sympathies and condolences are for the bereaved family, I have one complaint. The garden which I painstakingly struggle to maintain has been trampled upon and crushed during the protests and demonstrations held outside my gate.

The late Shahzeb’s birthday happened to fall on 31st January and his bereaved colleagues decided to hold a candlelit vigil and interview at the very accident site. It is my humble plea that my garden wall is not a memorial site.

Please do not treat it as such and have some consideration that this place is private property where putting up photographs and placards is most unacceptable.

The privacy and peace of my home has been violated and I request the bereaved family to kindly abstain from placing flowers, wreaths, candles, diyas and the likes in my private home, in future.

With due respect for the irreparable personal loss of a beloved child (Shahzeb), it is my humble request to kindly avoid such a painful scene in future.
