PESHAWAR: A lawyer, who was also a member  of the United Nation's Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, was gunned down in Peshwar's Gulbahar area on Friday, police sources confirmed.

The advocate was on his way to drop his children to school when unknown assailants riding on a motorcycle opened fire on him.

The Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) announced a two-day boycott of court proceedings against the killing of the lawyer and against the alleged mistreatment of another colleague at the hands of Peshawar's Gulberg police station personnel on Thursday.

The lawyers demanding action against the lawyers killer and the police personnel involved in Thursday's incident said they would decide on Monday about the further course of action.
