KARACHI: Five ships carrying containers, cement, iron and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal during the last 24 hours, a PQA press release said here on Thursday.

Three more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

On Thursday, seven ships including OOCL San Francisco, Jay Hawk, Dynamic Ocean, HR Margarita, Harsanadi, Star Masaya and Senna-4 occupied berths to load/ offload containers, cement, rice, iron and chemical respectively.

A cargo volume of 40,061 tons, comprising 22,241 tons imports and 17820 tons exports, was handled at the port during the last 24 hours.
