Old woman strangled

LAHORE, Jan 18: A 65-year-old women was strangled at her house in Muslim Colony, Samanabad.

Police said that Nasim Akhtar had returned from the US to attend a marriage a couple of days ago. She was reportedly living alone in the house.

On Saturday, one of her relatives came to see her but found the main gate locked from inside.

Police were called who broke open the gate and found the body of Ms Akhtar.

The body was taken to the city mortuary for a post-mortem.

According to neighbours, jewellery and valuables were missing from the house. They suspected that some robbers had killed the woman.
