LAHORE, Jan 30: A 64th-minute penalty-corner conversion by Arshad helped Sindh play a 2-2 draw against Army on the second day of the National Junior Hockey Championship in Faisalabad on Wednesday.

After Sindh took the lead through Waseem Ahmed in the 21st minute, Army responded through M. Yasir, who converted a short-corner in the 35th minute.

Army took 2-1 lead in the 49th minute when Habib-ur-Rehman cashed in on the short-corner.

Arshad converted a short-corner in the 64th minute which proved the equaliser.

In other matches, two goals by Raza Ali enabled Punjab Whites to carve out a 6-0 win against Balochistan.

While Raza fired goals in the 47th and 69th minutes, the other scorers were Zeeshan (27th), Faizan (43rd), Mubashar (56th) and Jabbar (61st).

Punjab Colours also earned an impressive 7-0 win against Pakistan Board.

Two goals by Rana Sohail in the 19th and 45th minutes and one each by Mudassar (39th), Ali Butt (42nd), Usama (49th), Muzaffar (16th) and Ghaffar (70th) completed the heavy defeat over the rivals.

Two goals each by Bilal and Kareem Khan guided Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to 5-1 win against Islamabad.

Kareem hit the goals in the 10th and 23rd minutes while Bilal hit in the 15th and 25th minutes.

Samiullah Khan chipped in with one goal in the 19th minute.

M. Isa scored the consolation goal for the losing side.

Thursday’s schedule: Wapda v Balochistan; HEC v Punjab Whites; PIA v Islamabad; KP v Customs.
