PESHAWAR, Jan 18: Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan said on Friday that the government was taking solid steps to control smuggling and stabilize the economy.
He was speaking to traders and businessmen after laying the foundation-stone of a seven-storey building of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The minister conceded that although sealing the long, porous border with Afghanistan was difficult, the government was devising plans to check smuggling.
According to a statement issued by the SSCI, the minister announced that warehouses would be made in foreign countries for the promotion of the Pakistani products.
