Shahzad Mohammadan in last 16

KARACHI, Jan 17: Shahzad Mohammadan reached the last 16 as they edged out New Hazara Quetta 2-1 thanks to a Sohail Ahmad late winner in the All-Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto football tournament at Shafi Stadium Friday.

Mohammad Ali of New Hazara Quetta who found the net in the 26th minute followed a Barat Ali pass saw his effort cancelled out in the 65th minute when Shahzad Mohammadan’s Rasool Bukhsh equalised off a rebound from New Hazara Quetta goalkeeper Syed Habib.

Sohail pounced in the 82nd minute to score the match-winner.

KESC, despite a goalless draw with Balochistan Police, moved into last 16 after they emerged group champions on better goal average. Balochistan Police, who were tied with KESC having seven points, also moved ahead being the runners-up of their group.
