Rally staged to condemn tribal feuds

SHIKARPUR, Jan 17: A big rally was taken out by the residents of Garhi Yasin on Friday against tribal clashes in Shikarpur district.

The participants also chanted slogans against extortion from Hindu shopkeepers, narcotics business and non-recovery of hostages, kidnapped from Garhi Yasin taluka.

The rally was led by Pakistan People’s Party divisional president Agha Siraj Durrani; Nazim, Garhi Yasin union council, Syed Ghulam Sarwar; and traders’ leader Dhani Bukhsh Memon.

A large number of businessmen and social activists participated in the rally.

CLASH: A clash took place between Mahar and Jatoi tribesmen in Rahmatullah Mahar village, Lakhi taluka on Friday. However, no casualty was reported. The Lakhi police rushed to the site of firing and controlled the situation.
