Two education officials dismissed

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 17: The provincial secretary, education, Nazar Hussain Mahar, has dismissed two education department officials from service on charges of misappropriation.

They were Assistant Mohammad Khan Leghari, and a senior clerk, Krishan Lal, at the office of the then district education officer (male), Mirpurkhas.

The then director, education, primary schools, Hyderabad, Zamir Hussain Niazi, conducted the inquiry and the charges were established.

DRAINS: The villagers of Deh 33, Kot Ghulam Mohammad Taluka, have complained that the contractor had not constructed drains and Nullahs according to the map approved for their village.

Talking to newsmen on Friday, the villagers demanded of the governor, Sindh, and the DCO, Mirpurkhas, to take notice and order an inquiry into the matter.

ARRESTED: An under-trial prisoner, Anwar Khaskheli, who had escaped two days back from the district prison, Mirpurkhas, was arrested from Ber Mori, Mirpurkhas Taluka, on Friday.

TRAIN DERAILED: A train was derailed between the Mir Allahdad and Kot Ghulam Mohammad railway stations on Friday. However, no injury was reported.

According to Pakistan Railways authorities, the train — Mg3 down Mirpurkhas — was on its way to Pithoro when two of its bogies and engine derailed.

BODY: The body of a youth was recovered from the old Mirwah bus stand. It was taken to the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas where it remained unidentified till the filing of this report.
