Those killed included two policemen who were performing duties at an election camp in Karachi's Korangi area and three others who were targeted in other parts of the city.

A senior police official stationed in Korangi said the policemen had been chasing the attackers before being killed.

Moreover, the attackers had managed to escape and had also taken the policemen's weapons and ammunition with them.

The policemen's bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

In another incident, a body bearing torture marks was found in the city's Saddar area.

Another tortured body was found in the city's Memon Goth area.

Furthermore, four people had been injured when unknown gunmen opened fire in Karachi’s Landhi area.
