ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: The Pakistan cricket team is practising hard to take on the world’s top-ranked South Africa in the three-Test series, starting from Feb 1.

National cricketers took part in a practice session in East London.

Coach Dav Whatmore passed on important tips to batsmen to perform in tough South African conditions, reported a news channel.

Bowling coach Mohammad Akram also shared tips with pacers about the conditions. Mohammad Irfan was seen bowling at a good pace.

Experts believe that Pakistan’s chances for success would grow if players get used to the conditions while bouncy South African wickets could cause problems for Pakistani batsmen.

Pakistan’s two-month long tour will be concluded on March 24 with the fifth and final ODI at Willowmoore Park, Benoni.

According to statistics, South Africa has upper hand over Pakistan with more victories.

Pakistan and South Africa have played 18 Test matches so far. Pakistan won only three and lost eight of them. —Agencies
