PESHAWAR: Three mortars fell in Hayatabad Phase VI area in Peshawar on Thursday injuring two children, DawnNews reported.

The mortars were fired from an unknown location, one of which landed on a road injuring two children.

Another mortar fell on the roof of a house, causing damage to the structure.

The injured children were shifted to Hayatabad Medical complex in the provincial capital and were discharged after receiving basic medical treatment.

Fear and panic gripped the area after the incident.

In another news a private school in Peshawar's Saddar area caught fire which engulfed the entire structure within a short time.

The fire was believed to have been caused by a short-circuit, sources told DawnNews.

Several children were reported as falling unconscious.

Emergency and rescue teams rushed to the spot and made timely efforts to safely recover all the children from the burning building.
