KARACHI, Jan 17: A division bench of the Sindh High Court adjourned on Friday the hearing of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s petition for quashment of a reference alleging illegal recruitments in PIA at her behest.

The bench comprised Justice Wahid Bux Brohi and Justice Moosa K. Leghari.

The reference is pending before an accountability court. Ms Bhutto says the prosecution has no case and it was instituted to victimize her. She had nothing to do with the impugned recruitments and the prosecution has failed to bring anything on record to show that she persuaded the airline management to make any appointment.

Advocate Abdul Hafeez Lakho appeared for the petitioner.

The hearing was adjourned to the second week of February for paucity of time.s
