LAHORE, Nov 24: The assistant coach of the national football training camp Akhtar Mohyuddin is likely to be changed as he is suffering from jaundice.

The national training camp is in progress at the Model Town ground since last Tuesday to pick Pakistan Senior and Under-23 teams for different competitions scheduled for next year.

Mohyuddin who could not join the camp sent a letter to the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) citing his disease as the cause of his absence from the training camp.

A PFF spokesman told Dawn that the federation could not afford the absence of a coach for a long period so it might replace him with another in couple of days.

Meanwhile, the tally of the camp probables has raised to 18 on Saturday as six more players reported to the camp.

The Army sports directorate, whose eight players are still to join the camp, informed the PFF on Saturday that all the players would join the camp on Nov 28 as the players were on leave till Nov 27 and would be joining the camp next day.

Similarly, three top players Captain Haroon Yousaf, Nauman and Gohar Zaman of Allied Bank would also join the camp on Monday, the coach Siddique Sheikh said.

He said that hopefully the number of probables would be raised to 30 by Wednesday.

Those who reported on Saturday are Shakir Taj, Nomi  Martin Gill, Nasir, Mohammad Shahid, Arif Masih and Arif Mahmood.
