KARACHI, Jan 17: The Sindh Education department has extended the date for submitting applications for registration of educational institutions in the private sector till Jan 31.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between a delegation of the All-Private Schools Management Association Sindh and the education secretary on Friday. The date for applying registration of new schools or renewal of registration expired on Jan 15, and now applications would be received by respective EDOs with a late fee of Rs 200 till Jan 31.

It was also decided in the meeting that private schools would finalize their respective primary and secondary schools annual examinations latest by Feb 15.

The decision was taken to avoid any clash with the schedule of SSC annual examinations of the educational boards, which are conducted at many of the private schools as well, said the chairman of the private school association, Syed Khalid Shah.
