KARACHI: Facelift of bridges planned

KARACHI, Jan 17: The city government has set up a committee to make recommendations for beautification of bridges and elimination of underneath encroachments.

The committee comprises EDOs revenue, master plan, finance, works and services, transport, district officer park and Nazims of concerned towns.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Nazim Karachi Naimatullah Khan here on Friday.

The meeting discussed various measures that could prove lasting for beautification of bridges and ensuring cleanliness underneath and to protect them against encroachments.

It was decided that nurseries would be promoted on spaces under the bridges and flyovers with walls to be beautifully painted.—APP
