MERGARA, Jan 22: The local leaders of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) have asked the workers to avoid negative propaganda against each other and convey the message of party’s chief to people.

Malik Mohammad Rashid, a candidate for the slot of PTI district president, told a press conference here on Tuesday that intra-party elections were completed at union council level in the district. Intra-party elections at tehsil and district levels would be held in a week or two, he added.

Mr Rashid claimed that his group would sweep intra-party elections in the district. He alleged that members of his rival group were engaged in negative propaganda against his group. However, he said that internal differences would end once the election results were announced in the district.Other candidates of his group including Malik Rehmanullah, Malik Faisal Rahim, Zakirullah Khan, Ghausur Rahman, Ali Shah Mishwani, Mohib Khan, Iqbal Khan and Mehmood Ahmad Jan were also present on the occasion.

Mr Rashid said that his group was openly supporting Pervez Khattak group instead of Qaisar Khan group in the province. He said that results of intra-party elections in 37 union councils of Lower Dir were announced. He said that his group got majority in those elections.

The PTI leader said that nine male and four female members were elected by party members in each union council. Those 13 members would elect party office-bearers at tehsil and district levels, he added. He said that PTI believed in real democracy.

“Yes, there is grouping in the party but all these groups will be merged in a single organisation after completion of intra-party elections,” Rahmanullah, another member of the group, said.

The group leaders asked PTI workers to avoid negative propaganda against each other and convey message of Imran Khan to people in every nook and corner of the district. —Correspondent
