LAHORE, Jan 22: A mediocre card of six events has been chalked out for the midweek Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse here on Wednesday.

All fields are tiny in single figures and comprising horses belonging to the class seven from the lowest to the top division.

All races will be contested over the sprinting distance of 900 metres.

The horses competing in the first race will come under starter’s order at 12.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Lahore Race Club (LRC) has re-designed the pattern of handicaps of thoroughbred Pakistani (TBP) and the half-bred Pakistani (HBP) horses, who it said, will be classified at the lowest in class six division II and upward.

According to a notification all owners and trainers have been informed that all TBP/HBP horses who have been already handicapped in class seven will not be given any relief in the handicap from now onwards.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the LRC stewards’ presided over by LRC chairman Tariq Aziz.
