SUKKUR, Jan 22: Three persons, including a Tapedar and his driver, were kidnapped by armed men within the remit of the Moula Dad police station near Jacobabad on Tuesday.

According to sources, Tapedar Muhammad Yousuf Lashari and his driver Samano were coming to Jacobabad from Garhi Khero in a private car when some armed persons intercepted their car and took them away.

Relatives of the kidnapped persons informed the police.

A pick-up driver was also kidnapped within the jurisdiction of the same police station.

After unloading some iron material from his Datsun pick-up, Nizamuddin Supar, resident of Zangi Pur, was returning to Jacobabad when armed persons kidnapped him along with the pick-up.

Sources said the kidnappers had contacted relatives of Nizamuddin and asked them to contact an influential person of Shikarpur district to pay a ransom for his release.

So far five persons have been kidnapped from Jacobabad district.

In this connection, president of the Shehri Ittehad Muhammad Akram Abro met Jacobabad SSP Muhammad Younus Chandio, who reached here from Karachi on Tuesday, and told reporters at the local press club that a movement would be launched if the victims were not recovered without payment of ransom.
