RAWALPINDI, Jan 20: A man was robbed of cash and a mobile phone at Arya Mohallah here Saturday night, police and the victim said.

Shoaib Abid said he was walking towards his home at around 11pm when two young men riding a motorbike intercepted him. The bandits threatened him to hand them over whatever he had. After snatching the wallet and the mobile phone, the gunmen escaped.

The residents of the area said due to lack of streetlights purse and mobile phone snatching incidents had become common in the locality.

They demanded that the police should initiate night patrolling to check the street crime.
