Samee goals prove decisive

LAHORE, Jan 16: Two goals by Samee Ibraheem helped Musa Industries beat Meadowlea 5 1/2-5 in the Samad Cup Polo on Thursday.

With 1/ 1/2 goal handicap, Musa went ahead in the first chukker through a goal by Nasir Ahmad Khan, however, Agha Murtaza reduced the margin to 2 1/2-1 by scoring a goal for the losers before the chukker closed.

Agha, struck again in the beginning of the next chukker, only to be outplayed by Samiullah who slammed a goal for Musa to make it 3  1/2-2 at the end of the second.

Samee struck his first goal in the third chukker.  Azhar Ali,  who scored two goals for the losers, netted his  first before the chukker finished with the winners leading at 4-1/2-3.

In the final chukker, Samee scored his second goal. Meadowlea  tried to make a  comeback in the closing minutes  of  play  by scoring two quick goals one each from Hussain Iftikhar and  Azhar Ali who slammed in his second, but all in vain.

In another keenly contested match, Millat Tractors defeated Polo Lounge 8- 7 1/2.
