KARACHI: Three students of Karachi University were killed and 12 others were injured when a bus carrying them from the mines at Metin (Jhimpir) turned turtle yesterday.

According to reports received by Vice-Chancellor Dr I.H. Qureshi till late in the night, 22 persons (21 students and one professor) were in the bus.

One of the springs of the bus, it is stated, suddenly gave way due two which the bus turned turtle. There was no relief available for about one-and-a-half hour.

The bodies of the three students are being brought to Karachi this morning for burial.

The six students, who remained unhurt, are also returning to Karachi this morning. They are: Anis Rasool, Salim Khan, Fazal-i-Rab, Sharifullah Khan, Ghazanfar Abbas and Abdul Naim.

Dr Qureshi said those admitted in the hospital at Hyderabad had sustained minor injuries.—Staff Correspondent
