HYDERABAD, Jan 16: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, on Thursday announced the third semester examinations of MPA final (evening programme), 2001-2002 session, would commence from Jan 22.

The last date for submitting the examination forms has been fixed at Jan 18.

The controller also notified first and second semester examinations, 2002-2003 session, of students of private institutes and colleges, affiliated with the university, would commence from Jan 20.

HOSTEL: The provost, hostels (boys), University of Sindh, on Thursday announced rooms to students of the 2002-2003 session, would be allotted on Jan 22 and the allotment to students of the 2003-2004 session would be made on Jan 25.

Meanwhile, the deputy director, Marvi Girls Hostel, University of Sindh, asked girls students of the 2003-2004 session, who had applied for allotment of rooms at the hostel, to deposit the fees and take possession of rooms by Jan 21.

PH.D PRESENTATION: Research scholar Mehrunisa Larik gave a presentation on “A critical study of the impact of poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in the curriculum of Sindhi language for class VI-XII” for her Ph.D degree at the faculty of education, University of Sindh, Hyderabad campus, on Tuesday.

She said the objective of her work was to make the teachers community realize the importance of the poetry of Shah Latif for the Sindhi language curriculum.

She said she had also referred to research works done by various noted scholars on the life and poetry of Shah Latif, including D. H. T. Sorely, Dr S. M. Jhangiani, Moti Lal Jotwani, Dr Shah Nawaz Sodhar, Ghulam Nabi Sadhayo, Dr Dur-i-Shahwar Syed, Dr Hassan Bano Soomro, Dr Fehmida Hussain Memon, Dr Sewani Shakantala and Dr Ghulam Hyder Channa.

WORKSHOP: A three-day training workshop on the Ideology of Pakistan was inaugurated at the Pakistan Study Center, University of Sindh, on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Qutubuddin Aziz said Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was a man of principles and the creation of Pakistan was a an unparalleled achievement.
