ATTOCK, Jan 12: The district Police officer (DPO) has expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of police stations of the district.
Chairing a meeting to review the crime situation in the district, the DPO, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, said police had failed to provide relief to the general public and arrest outlaws particularly proclaimed offenders (POs) and other wanted hardened criminals.
The meeting was attended by all the SHOs of 14 police stations, SDPOs of six police circles, in-charges of police posts of the district and SP Investigation Abbas Majeed Marwat Khan.
The DPO Mr Rizvi told the police officials that after assuming charge last month, he had given a task aimed at improving their performance but the crime statistics of the district showed that the situation was completely the opposite.
He regretted that the SHOs and SDPOs could not come up to his expectations.
Particularly, the task to arrest the wanted POs and other hardened criminals could not be fulfilled, he said.
He also warned that the SDPO and SHO would be responsible for the crime in their respective areas and asked them to hold open meetings and improve patrolling.
Moreover, he also directed to ensure that investigation report should reach courts within 14 days.
All police officials should remember that the prime task of the police is to provide relief to the general public, conduct investigations on merit, to eliminate crime at any cost, Mr Rizvi added.
