RAHIM YAR KHAN, Jan 12: The Supreme Court has ordered re-election of Rahim Yar Khan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RYKCCI) on Jan 18 and cancelled the ballot held earlier in September 2012.

According to the results of the September vote, of the 10 executive member seats Friends Business Forum (FBF) had got four seats while Founders Group bagged six.

After that elections FBF challenged the 10 votes of FG cast through authority letter and two other votes that had been excluded from the voters list in a Lahore high court order.

FARMERS: A meeting of sugar cane farmers was held here on Saturday Agri Forum Pakistan’s district chairman Mian Tahir Mehmood Akhtar told participants that they would benefit from a recent decision of the Punjab government about the recovery of their dues from sugar mills. He said the farmers of southern Punjab would Rs200 per maund (40kg) under the decision so they should keep their CPRs intact.

He demanded that permits should be distributed equally and deductions from the purchases be stopped. He urged the sugar mills to pay the farmers in time. — Correspondent
