KARACHI, Jan 11: The FPCCI has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman to release CNG cylinders that are lying at the Karachi Port for the last few months.

President FPPCI Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani in a press release issued on Friday said that the issue is causing a great deal of hardship and financial losses including daily demurrages to the importers, besides creating congestion at port.

He said that the importers have taken up the issue with the concerned authorities and FPCCI has also recommended to the Director General, Intelligence and Investigation to resolve it amicably.

They authorities must release the stuck-up CNG cylinders even by levying 5 per cent penalty, subject to confirmation of quality standards.—PPI
