MANY Pakistani private TV channels are available on cable and through Internet devices within the US and are very popular with the expatriate community living here.

These TV channels must conform to laws in the US, otherwise they may face censure.

The US Congress has recently passed a law ordering the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) to ensure that the audible level of commercials being telecast should never be louder than the level in which the main programme is being broadcast.

These commercials with unbearable high volumes have become a nuisance and are very irritating for consumers whose viewership decides the ratings of these various channels and their respective programmes.
