IT has been proved through several investigations and then at the Supreme Court level that massive irregularities and corruption took place in Ogra by the former chairman.

First, it was this government’s inefficiency and indifference which did not remove Tauqir Sadiq when news about his corruption surfaced.

Second, the stakes were so high that all beneficiaries became active to prolong the process of accountability.

It is indeed a shame that he managed a ‘great escape’ so openly and despite ban on his travel.

The disappearance itself is a manifestation of guilt.

Surprisingly, there are two senior officials who are just resting in jail doing another big service to some others.

Why can’t the authorities grill them threadbare and find out who was actually giving the instructions and who were the ultimate beneficiaries?
